Victory for the Everglades
This summer, Environment Florida and a coalition of environmental groups, including Natural Resources Defense Council, Southern Alliance for Clean Energy, Florida Wildlife Federation, Sierra Club, Earthjustice and Wildlaw, worked with local activists and elected officials to successfully derail proposals to build two massive coal-fired power plants, including one that would have been constructed just outside Everglades National Park.
