Tell A Friend to Take the Global Warming Pledge


Spread the word to all your friends about Environment Florida's pledge to stop global warming.

 

Sign up your friends to get an email or text message from Environment Florida on the day that energy and climate reform comes up for a vote in the U.S. Senate.

 

The rest is easy! On the day of the vote:

  1. Call Sen. LeMieux and tell him to support the Clean Jobs and American Power Act.
  2. After you call, tell one friend it’s their turn. They should call Sen. LeMieux and then call one of their friends to spread the word…get the idea?
  3. Report back to us what happened when you called.

Gov. Crist has just appointed his former Chief of Staff, George LeMieux, to fill Florida's vacant seat in the gridlocked U.S. Senate. Sen. LeMieux could be the deciding vote on President Obama's landmark energy agenda.

Dear Senator LeMieux:

Congratulations on becoming Florida's newest U.S. Senator. Please join the effort to repower America with clean energy, protect our environment, and transform our economy in the process -- putting millions of Americans to work building wind turbines, installing solar panels, weatherizing homes, and building the 100-miles-per-gallon cars of the future. President Obama has called for Congress to act. I urge you to support:

• Requiring utilities to generate at least 25 percent of the nation’s energy from renewable sources, such as wind and solar power, by 2025.

• Cutting energy use in new buildings by half and requiring utilities to use 15 percent less energy by 2020.

• Reducing global warming pollution by 35 percent by 2020 and by at least 80 percent by 2050.

• Holding Big Oil, Dirty Coal and other polluters accountable and making them pay for their global warming pollution.
