The first Florida panther death of 2010


Rampant overdevelopment claimed another panther this week. Experts say only 80 to 100 Florida panthers remain alive today.

It's still possible for the Florida panther to make a recovery. But we must act quickly to protect remaining panther habitat, rather than walling in our last panthers with more development.

Sign our petition to the US Fish and Wildlife Service and the Army Corps of Engineers in order to protect the Florida panther from destructive development on the Big Cypress Reservation.

I oppose development that unnecessarily encroaches on critical habitat for the endangered Florida panther.

Experts say only 80 to 100 Florida panthers remain alive in the wild, and rampant over development is the #1 cause of panther endangerment.

In particular, the proposed mining development on Big Cypress Reservation would block an important migratory corridor, thereby dividing and degrading our last panthers' habitat.

Please keep the Florida panther on the path to recovery by rejecting harmful development on Big Cypress Reservation.
