Industrial facilities dumped over 1.16 million pounds of toxic chemicals into Florida’s waterways, according to a report released today by Environment Florida: Wasting Our Waterways: Industrial Toxic Pollution and the Unfulfilled Promise of the Clean Water Act.
For the third year in a row, bacterial contamination shut Florida beaches or prompted authorities to post health warnings for more than 3,000 days, according to an annual report released today by the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC).
